6 Titles Division

Your horse may earn up to six standard titles.

Your name, your horse's name, and your titles will be added to a list on The Joyful Horse website. You will receive certificates to print and frame if you wish. With your permission, your video(s) will be added to our Horse Tricks Title YouTube playlist so that others may be inspired to teach their horses something new and have fun doing it.

Of course, all training must put the horse first. Reward-based training is encouraged. Whips and sticks are not allowed, nor is physical coercion.

The purpose of this program is to inspire people to try something new and learn how much their horse, donkey, or mule is capable of doing.

Single Object Challenge Titles

Put your thinking and training cap on! This division of Horse Trick Titles will test your creativity and is a great training challenge. The objective is to do as many tricks as possible using a single object. Start with 5, then 10, then 15, and more than 15.  There will be a minimum of 4 titles per object. This video must be a single recording and not edited.

• Novice Single Obstacle Challenge (NSOC) - do 5 tricks with a single object.
• Intermediate Single Obstacle Challenge (ISOC) - do 10 tricks with the same single object.
• Advanced Single Obstacle Challenge (ASOC) - do 15 tricks with the same single object.
• Ultra Single Obstacle Challenge (USOC) - do more than 15 tricks with the same single object.

Objects you may use

• Ball
• Car/truck Tire
• Pole on the ground
• Hoop
• Barrel
• Mat

As you see, your horse/donkey/mule has the potential of earning 4 titles per obstacle.

Performer Titles

• Live Performer Trick Horse (LPTH) - Demonstrate 15 well-executed tricks in a continuous video with no edits.
• Star Performer Trick Horse (SPTH) - 10 tricks in a narrative skit. An edited or non-edited video that tells a story like Mr. Ed, Lassie, or Fury. Try to keep the video under 5 minutes.
• Dance Performer Trick Horse (DPTH) - Dance with your horse! This would be like an on-the-ground freestyle where you and your horse move at liberty together. Use things like hand signals, matching steps, and mirroring. The music should be playing while you are dancing vs. adding it later. The video should be between one and two minutes. Make sure the music you use is allowed on Facebook and YouTube.
