Meet Agi Yother

About Agi
I find it very rewarding to share the knowledge that I've gained to help riders with various position issues find a more balanced and effective position. I am thrilled when students come to me with something they've been struggling with and we are able to uncover what is going wrong and how to use correct biomechanics to make a positive change.
After a serious riding accident in the late 90's, I had to take a break from training and competing in eventing. Through my rehabilitation and recovery, I worked with a number of physical therapists who helped me regain my strength and balance for riding and introduced me to the biomechanics work.
When I returned to riding, my focus was on dressage and I began riding with FEl trainer and judge, Sandy Howard. Sandy encouraged me to work with biomechanics coach, Mary Wanless. I continue to update my biomechanics training through yearly Biomechanics Workshops and Teacher Training courses with Mary Wanless.
My teaching emphasizes developing a self- awareness of how our actions impact our horses. From handling on the ground to under-saddle work, my focus is on teaching students how a horse thinks and reacts to our movement. I teach individual lessons and give clinics.
I reside in San Leandro, California.
To contact me for clinics or lessons you may visit https://agi.yother.com or email me at  [email protected] . You may follow me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/agi.yother .
Agi's course is excellent for the more traditional rider/competitor or all-around horse person who wants to become more aware and compassionate and is interested in self-improvement.
From Agi Yother - Â
"In my program, “Healthy Biomechanics From Stall To Saddle” at Bodies in Motion by Agi Yother, I bring 50+ years of life experiences, with riding and training horses, to my students and horses.
The most important “layer” of my program is that the horses’ needs are met. That should go without saying, but not all programs prioritize the horses’ needs.
In this program, the energy work, groundwork, and enrichment exercises are just as  important to the horse’s training as the ridden work.
Nothing makes me happier than to see a horse and rider’s performance improve with this work."
